Today I was in the car with my teenage daughter who embarks on her first lone trip this week abroad with college for seventeen days. She was reminded of a bible one bible verse amid conversation that has always resonated with her; "Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid, do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go". Joshua ch1v9
We never know the seeds that are planted into our children, till you see them bloom. But what a wonderful blessing it is when you see that God is at work in your child's life.
Our children learnt from a early age Jesus is with them where ever they go, In 2012 when my eldest was four years of age, I began to suffer from vestibular migraines and nystagmus of the eyes, I could not drive nor was I able to continue work in my current role. My husband had been driving me to work for 12hour shifts and hour drive either way, with a four year old and and 1 and half year old in tow. After much prayer and support from family and friends this lead to us moving 25miles south, from the city of Peterborough to the small town St. Ives, Cambridgeshire. Where our eldest learnt Jesus is her friend.
Moving forward to 2018, children age 11 and 8, their parents made the decision to move to the north, this time for a number of circumstantial reasons and not for trying before ,but if the time was right God was to open the doors on our last attempt to be nearer family. The doors flew open and August open 2018 we arrived in Darlington. The transition wasn't an easy one and 2 weeks prior to lock down I even joined the gym and a slimming club in the hope to make friends, or we would be considering moving back south. Then lock down hit March 2020, The year of my 40th and a big party arranged and our first family holiday abroad in ten years. My daughter comes home with a cough on the 21st and the country went into lock down on the 23rd March 2020. So I never made it to my forties! or abroad. But following this was the day I stood in the kitchen tears rolling down my cheeks and my daughter comes in, asking "what's the matter mummy"? to which I replied your not the only one whom misses their friends. There are times even in our adult life that we need Jesus to be close, reminding us we are not alone and we are his friend.

So proud of you all. God hears our prayers and answers them in his timing. Xx
